Kintsugi Workshop, Thursday 5 and Saturday 7 December
- 7 item left
We offer to bring your cherished pieces back to life.
Thanks to the ancestral technique of Kintsugi, a Japanese tradition, which allows an object to be glued back together and this collage (or simple cracks) to be enhanced by adding gold powder.
The discovery workshop allows you to discover the basics of Kintsugi and leave with your restored object. During this workshop, you will be invited to discover the history of Kintsugi, but above all to carry out the restoration of a ceramic yourself.
You can bring your own item (if it is not broken into more than 4 pieces) or we will provide one.
Béatrice Jacotot, who will accompany you, is a restorer, trained at the Ecole de Condé but also with a Japanese master lacquerer since she went there in 2016 to acquire this ancestral know-how.
At the end of this workshop you will have the necessary knowledge to, at home, give a new aesthetic to your own objects thanks to this superb technique that is Kintsugi!
The materials used in this workshop are not traditional materials that require a long drying time, so the result obtained is not suitable for food use. For the complete technique, it would take 12 hours.
