HISTORY
Following in his father’s footsteps, Olivier took over the workshop founded in 1952 in southern France, in Provence. Back then, nearly every village in the region was home to a craftsman specializing in olive wood, and the industry was in full swing. Salad bowls, cutlery, cutting boards, and other utensils adorned the colorful tables.
Today, olive wood creations are often looked down upon and neglected because the items found in markets are typically imported and of poor quality. Yet working with olive wood—provided it is done with respect for the existing trees and the production stages, particularly drying at the proper humidity level—is a rare and valuable craft. In his workshop, Olivier is dedicated to upholding traditions and craftsmanship, bringing unique and useful products to life using rare woods from the Var region or Italy.
Note: To care for your wooden items, do not put them in the dishwasher or soak them in water for too long. You should also oil them occasionally with pumpkin seed or sunflower oil, and avoid using metal lids on salad bowls to prevent scratches.
