English baskets

At La Maison de Commerce always showcase products that have captured our hearts—products whose stories and craftsmanship have left a lasting impression on us.

Today, we’re introducing the Trugs, traditional English baskets.

"Why 'royal'?" you might ask. Well, as it happens, Queen Victoria fell in love with these baskets—made entirely of chestnut wood and handcrafted in Sussex according to an old tradition—and decided to "outfit" all the Court gardeners with them!

This tradition continues to this day in England, whether through the preservation of this craft—which Robin has carried on—or through their presence in the royal gardens!
