Fabrice Serafino
History
Before becoming a basket weaver, Fabrice Serafino was a dancer in internationally renowned companies. Today, from Provence, he makes the objects he creates dance.
Also a designer of sets and costumes, he already had a long career in performing arts when he discovered a new passion. He met a master in traditional English basket weaving who taught him the craft. It was love at first sight with wickerwork, which he decided to shape and cultivate himself as well.
In his workshop, where his creations take over the space, Fabrice diverts traditional basket weaving techniques and free weaving methods to create contemporary and sculptural results where the fluidity of the weaving highlights the movement in the object.
