HISTORY
A mosaic of influences, Romania is a true melting pot that has sought to bring together peoples who have all contributed to the country’s identity: Thracians, Latins, Asians, Germanic peoples, French, Slavs, Greeks, Hungarians, Jews, and Armenians.
In Corund, the Pall family proudly represents a Romanian minority known as the Székelys (Szekely).
In the heart of this village, known for its ceramics, Anna-Maria and her ancestors created ceramic pieces featuring Transylvanian motifs inspired by the historical Hungarian influences of this minority group.
For four generations, they have been crafting traditional ceramics that are unique in both technique and design. From extracting the clay, sifting, and preparing it, to shaping, forming, drying, casting, throwing, glazing—also known as “flowering” (virágozás)—and finally firing at temperatures between 900 and 1,000°C, every step is done by hand.
