Cocotte Basket
- 4 item left
Its rounded silhouette recalls the baskets of another time — the kind slipped into the crook of the arm to gather eggs, pick a few flowers, or return from the market. Light yet sturdy, it accompanies the simple gestures of daily life and lends a quiet charm to a table, a shelf, or a kitchen.
The Cocotte basket is woven in Brittany by the basketmaker Michel Le Guilcher. A former cobbler, he turned to willow after first learning to cultivate it himself. Today, he grows several varieties, harvesting, sorting, soaking, and stripping them before weaving each basket patiently by hand — bringing it to life through a process that begins in the field and ends in the workshop.
The models depend on the harvest and the varieties available. This one has been entrusted to us in limited quantity. Once sold out, we will have to wait for the next season.
