Its rounded shape is reminiscent of the baskets of yesteryear—the kind you’d tuck under your arm to gather eggs, pick a few flowers, or bring home groceries from the market. Lightweight yet sturdy, it complements the simple gestures of daily life and adds a touch of style to our tables, shelves, or kitchen.

The cocotte basket is handwoven in Brittany by Michel Le Guilcher, a basket weaver. A former shoemaker, he turned to wickerwork after learning to grow the willow himself. Today, he grows several varieties of willow, which he harvests, sorts, soaks, and strips before painstakingly weaving them by hand, creating each basket through a process that spans from the field to the workshop.

The models depend on the harvests and the varieties available. We received only a small quantity of this one. Once it's sold out, you'll have to wait until next season.
