These ceramic glasses, hand-thrown and hand-painted in Sifnos, in the Cyclades, feature mackerel, octopuses, fish, and flowers in vibrant blues, greens, and reds. Each design is painted freehand. No two pieces are exactly alike, as if the sea, the wind, and the sun had also left their mark on the design. Whether you pour water, juice, or chilled wine into them, your gaze is immediately drawn to the Mediterranean.
In Nikos’s workshop, in the northern part of the island, pottery has been a family business for over a century. The techniques are passed down and refined, yet they remain true to the ancient tradition of shaping clay, wheel-throwing, and using a brush to simply capture the sea and the light.
These glasses embody the brand’s signature style: a confident balance between regularity and subtle irregularities, designs that are both naive and precise, and bold shapes and colors. They are just as at home on a holiday table as they are during everyday meals, with the quiet confidence of objects made to last.
