This slotted spatula, hand-carved from boxwood in Catalonia, will be your perfect kitchen companion thanks to its long handle.
This slotted spatula was specially designed by our Catalan artisan for paella: Its holes prevent the rice grains from sticking together and ensure a more even mix (the rice grains pass through the holes without sticking to each other as the spatula pushes them).
We find that it works very well for risotto, quinoa, and other legumes, too—perfect for the “veggies” among us ;-)
Note: Wooden utensils should be washed by hand with warm water, a soft sponge, and dish soap if necessary. Then, wipe them dry quickly or let them air dry on a dish towel,as wood doesn’t like moisture! Avoid using the microwave or dishwasher.
To preserve their natural beauty, treat them occasionally with a colorless, food-grade vegetable oil, such as grapeseed or canola oil (1–2 times a year for daily use).
