In Madrid, Pablo Yubero works with wood as if it were a living material. Coming from a family with a background in cabinetmaking, he grew up surrounded by wood shavings, tools, and the scent of freshly cut wood. Influenced by Japanese forms and simple balances, he turns, sands, and oils each piece by hand to reveal the material’s natural variations rather than hide them. Here, no sculpture strives for perfection: each piece retains its irregularities, its grain, and its own unique rhythm.
The sculptures are made of iroko wood. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.
The finishes are applied using only oil, without any chemical processes.
