Large carved dish

Diana Barbosa’s serving dishes evoke a garden delicately preserved in clay. Sunflowers, jasmine, wildflowers, or grapevines: each motif is shaped and then hand-engraved in bas-relief. 

Diana Barbosa works with stoneware in both Portugal and France. Each piece is entirely handcrafted using traditional techniques such as modeling, coil building, and engraving. The lines—deliberately clean and organic—are then enhanced with chiseled reliefs, while the layering of glazes, the use of oxides, and the interplay between the raw and glazed clay reveal the full depth of the material.

Designed to serve as both everyday items and decorative pieces, these dishes are perfect for holding fruit or bread, and look just as good simply displayed on a table or hung on the wall.
