An iconic object of the Mediterranean region, the gargoulette—also known as a botijo in Spain—has been used for centuries to keep water cool in the heat. Made of unglazed terracotta, it works on an age-old principle: evaporation through its porous walls naturally cools its contents.

Chaque pièce est tournée à la main, selon des gestes transmis de génération en génération. Avec son bec étroit et sa large anse, sa forme traditionnelle n’a pratiquement pas changé depuis le Moyen ge.
