Summer Getaway: Heading to the Mediterranean at La Maison de Commerce

We begin our journey in Sifnos, at Nikos’s studio, a ceramic artist who loves the Aegean Sea. On his carafes and bowls, octopuses, flowers, fish, birds, and trees of life undulate under the stroke of his brushes. Each piece is unique, painted freehand, like a captured moment. In his large mugs, the octopuses seem to float gently, as if suspended in a marine dream. 

Set a summer table in the colors of Greece. Just mix and match patterns, play with combinations, and fill your carafe with lemonade, and set out a few Klimchi glasses hand-blown glasses with sun-kissed curves and vibrant colors, and let your gaze wander over a ceramic bowl ceramic bowl crafted and painted in the Cyclades.

A tablecloth, woven and embroidered in Puglia, adds the finishing touch: simple, elegant, like a nod to laundry drying in the breeze. On the table, a plump sits like a summer gem. 

In your hand or cradled in the crook of your arm, the sun basket carries tomatoes, apricots, or little joys picked fresh from the garden. And for the hottest hours, the Spanish fan, decorated with hand-painted lemons, brings a breath of fresh air and a touch of elegance.
