This delicate candlestick tassel is cast in wax in the Alpilles by France’s last remaining candle-making workshop, founded in the mid-19th century in a small village where the White Fathers once made candles for the Church. Mineral pigments mixed with the wax give these pendants subtle hues that look stunning when used to adorn a doorknob, the key to an antique cabinet, your festive or everyday tables, or even your Christmas trees. Choose from: English green, pistachio green, linen, papyrus, or antique wax. Sold individually.
Ingredients:
- Bleached cotton wick sourced from the French company EPV (FILT). Raw cotton contains numerous natural residues such as oils and waxes, as well as dust and dirt of all kinds. Sometimes it may even contain traces of pesticides or textile treatments. All these “foreign” substances present in the cotton will cause irregularities in wax absorption during combustion, which can lead to an unstable flame, charred residue, and excessive smoke. The purpose of bleaching is to remove these impurities to ensure stable combustion. It also imparts astringent properties to the cotton, which further improves combustion.
- Natural dye.
- Paraffin is a mineral wax that is less oily and more compact than vegetable wax. It is the best ingredient for making a high-quality candle that burns slowly. Vegetable wax is more suitable for filling because it does not make the product hard.
