These wedge-shaped dishes are based on a design from the 1950s that was once very common in French homes. Their shape evokes family dinners, shared desserts, and a certain sense of abundance.
They are made in Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, a region known for its earthenware and stoneware since the 18th century. In the workshop founded in the early 20th century, Stéphane discovered old pieces that had never been glazed. Using these pieces as models, he decided to revive production while preserving the original designs and techniques.
The clay always comes from the local area. After being gathered, sifted, and left to dry for a long time on site, it is then shaped and glazed in the workshop. Each piece thus carries on a tradition of patient craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation.
Both decorative and practical, these ear-shaped plates are perfectly at home in the center of the table or hung on the wall, serving as a living reminder of the art of French earthenware.
