Magdalena Harms’ pieces are handcrafted using the coil and slab techniques. Rather than relying on elaborate glazes, the artist works with the material itself, incorporating clay inlays and applying natural engobes. Deeply connected to nature, she seeks out unique materials and explores the clays, stones, ashes, and mineral pigments she collects during her explorations. Here, shades of black and white are applied by hand to the stoneware, creating a striking contrast and a graphic surface that is both raw and organic.
