Fishermen's Baskets
HISTORY
In an alleyway in Tortellà, a small Catalan town, the storefront of a shop straight out of a bygone era: it sells candy, toys, cigarettes, books, and newspapers.
Two children are unwrapping a new game there. Their mother is busy. In the back, a glass door opens onto Dani’s kingdom: a basket-weaving workshop.
The man speaks only Catalan. He weaves baskets so that these techniques won’t be lost in the vastness of time.

Dani learns by doing—by experimenting with fibers and exchanging ideas with other basket weavers in Catalonia, France, and beyond.
