A green hill overlooks Lake Aiguebelette in Savoie.
Perched atop a hill, a former mansion has been transformed into a community living and activity space where residents share a laundry room, a workshop, their daily lives, and a garden.
In one of the outbuildings, tucked away above the bakery, a small, sun-drenched workshop blends the scent of wood with that of fresh bread.
This is where Baptou turns wood into tableware, decorative items, children's toys, and jewelry.
His creations are made entirely by hand, with care, patience, and passion, using primarily local wood.
For him,“a wooden object is a meeting—a meeting between the work of nature, which causes the tree to grow; the craftsmanship of the artisan who shapes it; and the pleasure of the person who uses it.”
