A Deep Dive into Romanian Crafts

Always on the lookout for new skills, we continued our journey to the heart of Transylvania, in Romania.
In this region steeped in mystery, we ventured into picturesque villages to meet the people who carry on ancient and timeless traditions. These passionate artisans, guardians of ancestral craftsmanship, invite us to immerse ourselves in Romanian culture—come discover it this winter on Boulevard St. Germain at La Maison de Commerce.

The Song of Wild Spring

The Song of Wild Spring is also an ode to art and creativity, featuring a series of original works selected by the art gallery Quand les fleurs nous sauvent.

Conceptuelle, when flowers save us, creates unique artistic events and experiences centered on the themes of flowers, plants, and, more broadly, nomadic nature. It takes over Parisian venues for its exhibitions and participates in numerous art fairs, including Drawing Now Art Fair, Asia Now in Paris, and AAF in Brussels.

Committed to its mission, the gallery showcases works by both emerging and established artists, welcoming collectors of all levels—from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts.

As part of its social responsibility, the gallery uses proceeds from its sales to fund flower distributions to the most disadvantaged through the nonprofit organization it founded.

Finally, the gallery creates and produces a podcast featuring intimate conversations with collectors, titled *Collection de collectionneurs*.

The designs, created using wooden chisels, feature motifs such as rooster feathers—a symbol of the village—peacocks, the tree of life, and geometric patterns embellished with spirals or swirls, all rendered in those instantly recognizable hues: ochre, beige, black, red...
Also on display will be cushions featuring Hungarian embroidery known as Kalotaszeg, always monochromatic with traditional motifs; merino tapestries in
made using vegetable dyes on vertical looms, wooden toys crafted in the heart of the Transylvanian forest at the foot of the Carpathians, and goose eggs decorated with colored wax. Each object is an invitation to discover the Romanian art of living and to celebrate the legacy of a vibrant and creative craft tradition.
