The first piece of jewellery that the sculptor-turned-silversmith Spiros Koukos created was an engagement ring for his soon to be wife.
Their daughter Katerina is a trained gemologist, a member of the Jewellery Historians Society of London and the Gemological Institute of America.
Father and daughter are inspired by ancient Greece traditions or Byzantine folklore to create timeless pieces that evoke centuries of history and people. Working silver and enamel with exceptional finesse, together they perpetuate rare and endangered techniques.
The Koukos workshop has become a hotspot for Athenian crafts. It creates pieces in collaboration with the most prestigious museums in the country, such as Benaki or Cycladic.
