A deserted hill dominates the sea. The workshop is well placed. Water and clay are in abundance.
Apostolidis is a Tsikalaria, a Tsoukalian factory (Earthen pots used for cooking with fire).
Giannis Apostolidis is named after his grandfather. Like him and his father before, they have all followed the teaching of the great ceramic masters and produce traditional pieces that have made the reputation and fortune of the island. But also more personal pieces, with original colours and patterns. All with a very clear idea and a serene happiness.
Funny, free and creative, Giannis Apostolidis expresses himself with few words and in broken English. Ignoring the difficulties that weigh on the industry, today he passes on the family know-how to his daughter. To us, he seems to embody the beautiful island on which he lives on.
